I recieved a Louis Vuitton bag as a gift and its hideous, I would like to sell it, How do I know if its real?

I dont have a reciept or certificate number, it wasnt given to me. The bag is Louis Vuitton France, made in spain.|||Pay attention to the spelling on the tag and make sure it says Louis Vuitton not something like Louis Viton or something. Also, you can call the company and tell them the serial number on the bag and they will tell you if it's fake or not.|||I would go to the website and research it to the best of my abiltiy. Or JUST Put it on craigslist as you have here..and a pretty price!!|||When you received it, if it have plastic wrapping on the handles, Then its a definite fake. Also check the spelling.If you go on the Lois Vutton website, they should have pics of their bags, check if they r identical. check for zippers, small details and stuff like that. I think ebay have a guide on how to tell if a handbag is real, im not sure....Hope i helped|||you can take it in to a LV store. they can tell you if it is real.|||The Tyra Banks Show did an episode about this. Go to the website, search for 'fake purse' and you should pull up a video on 'How to spot a fake purse" Hope this helps.|||i had the same problem with a guess bag, when they were really in and expensive in australia. my bag actually broke and i got it for my birthday. considering that the person who had gotten it for me was told that the bad was real and payed a pretty expensive cost, i took it to the guess store asking if they could fix it. they took and and analyzed it and told me it was the best fake they had ever seen. i ended up getting a new real bag along with the wallet as they took it to the states to show ho real the bags are looking. i say take it to the store to check if its real and they should give you some advice. you might even get something real in exchange for the bag as they don't want fakes going around! =]|||If the person bought it directly from the store and gave it to you (this is the only authentic way to purchase) then it would have come in a heavy duty brown box with Louis Vuitton printed on it in brown, then tied in satin LV ribbon OR brown leather ribbon, then placed inside a matching shopping bag. This is the way they sell all of their bags. Of coarse it would have a Louis Vuitton sleeper bag as well. You can go to mypoupette.com and for $10 they can authenticate the bag for you through photos.
