I recently acquired a louis vuitton purse or bag from a friend who had no need for it. She doesn't know if it is real or not either. Does anyone know how to tell the difference between a fake and a real one? I have tried to find out by visiting the official website but I cant find the exact product. Authentic LV leather turns to a honey color with age. But...it doesn't stay perfect. It will be darker on the handles where your hand holds it, it will also show small water marks and other spots that happen with normal use. If the handles aren't real leather, or they are a solid shade of tan or beige without variation like water marks, then it is most likely fake.
